The newly refurbished Fountains Hotel is located in the heart of the city centre, on a partially pedestrianised shopping street 'St Georges Mall' with cafés and restaurants along each side. It takes its name from the fountains on Cape Town's main streets Heerengracht and Adderley Street. The Fountains Hotel and Suites lie within walking distance of the city's many attractions and business centre as well as the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

The entire ground floor of the hotel is airy and light, with sliding glass doors opening up to views of Table Mountain and the Fountains. It encompasses the reception, the restaurant, the outside terrace and sundeck, a convivial bar and lounge and an outdoor swimming pool (not accessible). Three levels of undercover parking beneath the hotel provide secure parking. Knowledgeable concierges, who know the city inside out, man the desk at the reception day and night and can help with advice on where to eat, what shows are on, interesting tours to do etc. They can also help with bookings. 24-hour room service is also available.

As well as the usual hotel rooms, the Fountains also offers a range of 70 spacious suites on the top four floors, ranging from bachelor to 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. Each fully serviced suite has a living room and a fully equipped kitchen with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Note that no suites are specially adapted for wheelchair users.
